I have read articles about the mentality of ACL recovery and some articles about specific athletes that went through this process that highlights the emotional impact of it. I want to have a conversation with Mr. Clark and Ms. Bullard. I want to have a conversation with Mr. Clark because he played sports in high school and has a lot of knowledge about the human brain and neuroscience. The first question I plan on asking is if he ever had an injury when he played sports in high school and how it affected him. The most important question I plan on asking is; how does your brain block specific actions that you are physically capable of doing, but your brain won't let you. I want to have a conversation because I can ask her more about the psychology of humans in general. The first question I want to ask her is if she has a lot of experience working with athletes and the difference before psychology. The most important question I plan on asking is about the psychology of teens and young adults when they go through a significant change that dramatically affects a person's routine. I plan on having a conversation with my physical therapist, Dr. Harrison, and my trainer, Mr. Jeff. I also wanted to have a conversation with the doctor who did my surgery, but there is not a good time I can do it. I want to talk to my trainer and physical therapist because I have already learned a lot of information from them, and they focus mainly on people that have torn their ACL. Hence, they have a lot of experience with a variety of patients. I plan on asking them the same questions, and I will compare their responses. The first question I am going to ask will be about which stage is the hardest on a patient's mentality. The most important question I am going to ask them is going to be my central question because I think that they will have different responses, and the comparison will be interesting to me. I have already found a lot of useful information from various scholarly articles, and it has led me to find more specific questions related to my topic. One question I want to research is about the different emotional responses between concussions and ACL injuries. Another question I want to think about is: What are the various factors that impact the psychology of athletes during recovery? The last thing I want to learn more about is if there is any way people can help the mentality of athletes still recovering and what are different ways to help.
